Quality time with your S.O. should be just that: quality. Minimizing distractions and getting creative can help you unlock quality time. Check out the list below for 5 easy ways you can make the most of your time together:
Calendar It In
Whether you use a physical calendar or one on your device, blocking off a few hours each week for quality time/date night is really helpful. That way, when something else comes up (& it definitely will), you have the ability to say that you’ve already got something scheduled.
Turn Off Screens
Create a standing day or time in your home when phones & devices are turned off. It can be 45 minutes or an entire afternoon. Just set parameters and stick to them.
Eat At The Table
After a long day, it’s easy to grab dinner and a seat in front of the TV. Make an effort to eat at least one meal each day at the table together and allow for conversations to flow. Mealtime happens every day, so it’s easy to build consistency whether it's breakfast or dinner.
Go To Bed Early
So often, great quality time can be found in the few minutes between climbing into bed and falling asleep. This can be a time of conversation, laughter, dreaming, and planning for the future, but that won’t happen if you wait until you’re exhausted to get into bed. Whenever you typically go to bed, make it 10-15 minutes earlier and you’ll be amazed at how valuable that time will become.
Do Chores Together
You can shake things up by doing your everyday chores with your person. Grocery shop, do yard work, clean the house, take your kids to soccer practice, cook, wash the car, pay bills, etc.— just do it together.
